My Work

A wise person once said, if you do what you love, you'll never "work" a day in your life. Obviously, that person figured out a way to get paid to sit on the beach and sip Margaritas all day. I have had every kind of job you can imagine, from scooping ice cream, serving at a chain restaurant in a mall, slapping tar on foundations of new homes, painting old homes... all the way to running an advertising agency in New York City.

I have loved every job I've ever had because I'd rather be working than not working... but all my jobs were "work" that involved swallowing some pride, biting my tongue and/or never getting enough sleep. I have also had great success being self-employed as a photographer, web developer, film editor... all things I enjoy... and then get bogged down in the paperwork of being self-employed and that turned into work also.

So... I have learned that life is not about finding work that does not feel like "work." It is about finding work that feels so rewarding that it makes it all worth it. And that, for me, involves helping people; whether by volunteering for my favorite charity, creating a press kit or publicity materials for an artist trying to make it, or having a one on one reading with someone looking for answers.

Sure... it is still "work" compared to sitting on that beach with that frozen margarita... but it means something! And, that is what really makes me happy. I can't show you most of what I just mentioned in a Website, so I will share with you some of the images I have created, with a camera or a paintbrush or a computer or all three, and this will give you an idea of how I see the world... and hopefully give you an idea of how rewarding it could be to "work" with me. :-)
